Chalk Art Goes Virtual

By August 6, 2020General

Remember when artists transformed the streets of The Gateway into a colorful art gallery to get the word out about the urgent need for foster parents?

Utah Foster Care (UFC) is proud to present its 18th Annual Chalk Art Festival all day Saturday, August 8th in both a virtual setting, and in person with five featured artists socially distanced at The Gateway.

“Children across the state of Utah continue to come into foster care and they continue to need foster parents to provide safe and loving homes,” says Mike Hamblin, CEO of Utah Foster Care. “As you follow UFC’s Instagram and Facebook pages, you will learn about the children in foster care and the many ways you can help them.”

More than 40 artists will be posting live video and photos of their artwork as it progresses on their driveways and patios, and The Gateway invites you to stroll their sidewalks to watch live chalk art as it happens. Utah Foster Care will also be posting information about foster parenting and upcoming Ask a Foster Parent online events.

Visit the virtual festival on social media at #utahchalkartfestival or @utahfostercare. For a map of artists at The Gateway:  http://shopthegateway.com/calendars/utah-foster-care-chalk-art-festival/2020-08-08/.

Utah Foster Care is a non-profit organization serving Utah’s children by finding, educating and nurturing families to meet the needs of children in foster care. UFC is currently offering foster parent training classes online. For information on that, go to utahfostercare.org.
