Utah Foster Care (UFC) is proud to be one of seven Utah nonprofits to receive a grant from the Ironman Foundation Community Fund, in conjunction with the Ironman 70.3 St George triathlon, on May 2.
The grant will go towards supporting UFC’s Wishing Well Fund, which provides children in foster care with enrichment activities, as well as talent and skill development. These activities improve children’s self-esteem and help “normalize” their foster care experience.
“This generous grant will go a long way towards enhancing the lives of children in southern Utah who have been abused or neglected,” says Debbie Hofhines, UFC Development Director. “St George is a growing area that’s also seen increases in the need for qualified, trained foster parents, as well as programs like Wishing Well to support children as they go through the healing process with foster families.”
