About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Volunteer Coordinator for our Northern Region, which encompasses Box Elder, Cache, Rich, Weber, Davis, and Morgan counties. The ideal applicant will be a candidate who can adapt to ongoing changes and tackle a variety of assignments with flexibility. This role involves providing support to foster parents in a variety of ways through gathering volunteers, along with staff meetings and support of the Northern Region team. This role will report directly to the Volunteer Services Manager, while also collaborating with other staff in the region.
Key Responsibilities
โข Community Engagement: Actively recruit volunteers in the area to support foster families. Provide frequent communication with volunteers, letting them know of opportunities available in their area. Build relationships with and thank volunteers in various ways to let them know they are appreciated and are making a difference.
โข Team Collaboration: Work with the Retention and Recruitment teams in the local office to help find the best ways to utilize volunteers for supporting Utah Foster Careโs mission. This will include weekly meetings at the Clearfield Office, monthly virtual meetings, and statewide meetings three times per year. Occasional meetings with DCFS staff and partner volunteer organizations; volunteer and recruitment events are also occasionally needed.
โข Data Management: Track volunteer hours and programs, both for individual volunteers and total hours, along with the impact those hours are making for the families in your region. This information will be reported to DCFS and is a vital part of our ongoing contract with the state.
โข Organizational Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Utah Foster Careโs mission and strategic plan to recruit, train, and retain foster parents by building the Volunteer Program.
โข Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
โข Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
โข Strong people skills – work with people from a variety of backgrounds cohesively
โข Strong organizational and communication skills – ability to organize events and bring volunteers together to help events run successfully
โข Experience with data management
โข Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
โข Flexibility to accommodate weekend and evening hours
โข Comfortable learning and utilizing digital software, including Microsoft Office, CRMs, etc
Job Requirements:
โข Some evenings/weekend hours and travel
โข Valid driver’s License and a reliable vehicle
โข Hours include both in-person and virtual work, with infrequent travel to the Salt Lake area.
