Care Communities

By July 30, 2024General

Utah Foster Care and Utah First Lady Abby Cox’s Show Up Team have partnered together to establish the Care Community Pilot Program. We have multiple corporations, congregations, and social groups already participating.

Each Care Team is made up of 8-10 individuals that support one specific foster family. This Care Team supports the foster family by bringing in meals, teaching the children in care new skills, mentoring, and more. Every Care Team looks a little bit different based on the needs of the foster family they are matched with.

There have been so many successes so far! We have had Care Teams teach kids how to mow the lawn, clean out garages, take kids on adventures to give foster parents a break, drop off meals, and more! Care Team members have been incredible gifts to these foster families. Buoying them up during difficult bumps along the way. Care Team members have even lifted their own spirits through giving back to those in their communities.

The Care Community Program is looking for 10 additional teams across the state of Utah. If you are part of a business, religious, or social group that wants to give back, this might be the perfect fit. Head over to our Care Communities page to learn more. Not everyone can be a foster parent, but everyone can be part of a caring community. We need you.
