Community partners are essential in helping Utah Foster Care accomplish their mission. By becoming a community partner you join other community leaders, companies, and organizations who also value providing the happy, healthy childhoods all children deserve.

Boss Bus
BOSS BUS
Belonging, Opportunity, Success, and Support
Due to generational cycles of addiction, abuse, and neglect youth experiencing foster care often lack positive role models. Nationally, only 50% of youth in foster care graduate high school and of those that do, only 3% graduate from college. Last year Utah had more than 4500 youth impacted by foster care in some way.
When you welcome vulnerable youth into your business, you provide opportunities to expand their vision, foster connections, and ignite passions and growth–paving the way for youth to become the BOSS of their life.
We are looking for organizations like yours to participate in our BOSS Bus initiative. This can include things like hosting a youth field trip, presenting career opportunities in your field, or hosting an event that brings youth together.
To be a BOSS organization, please contact Crystal Ashton at (801)245-0380 or crystal.ashton@utahfostercare.org

Fostering StoryTellers
Fostering StoryTellers Camp with Dr. Evan Brown
This summer, the Fostering Storytellers Camp—led by Dr. Evan Brown of the Meet and Teach Program—offered a unique opportunity for young people to learn the art of filmmaking. Over eight weeks, they learned how to operate cameras, set lighting, record sound, edit footage, and tell powerful stories.
Your donation can make a lasting impact on youth affected by foster care, providing them with the tools, confidence, and platform to share their stories.
The Fostering Storytellers Camp empowered these youth to see their voices as valuable. Dr. Brown taught them that their experiences matter and that they have important stories to tell. For many, this was their first chance to express themselves creatively and gain confidence in their abilities.
In addition to learning filmmaking techniques, the youth developed essential skills in storytelling and media production—skills that can open doors for their futures. Their final videos, which premiered to a packed audience, were so impressive that they were invited to help film at Entrata’s annual Summit event, providing them with real-world, professional experience.
Beyond technical skills, the camp helped these youth feel seen and valued. They walked away from the program not only with new abilities but with a deep sense of pride in their work and newfound confidence in their potential. As one participant shared:
“It felt amazing to be trusted with such high-end equipment and to see my ideas come to life.”
By donating to the Fostering Storytellers Camp, you are helping provide future youth with similar transformative opportunities. Your support will fund equipment, training, and mentorship, ensuring that more young people can develop their skills, share their voices, and believe in their worth.
Dr. Evan Brown’s leadership has been a cornerstone of the program’s success, inspiring these youth with his enthusiasm, dedication, and belief in their abilities. With your help, we can continue to provide these opportunities for years to come, empowering youth to become storytellers, creators, and leaders.
Join us in making a lasting difference—help foster the next generation of storytellers today.

Wishing Well
Wish Granters Needed
Every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joys of childhood, but for many children in foster care, essential activities and items are out of reach due to financial limitations. That’s where the Wishing Well Program comes in. Operated by Utah Foster Care with the generous support of private donors, this program helps state-licensed foster parents cover the costs of extracurricular activities and necessary items that are not funded by the state.
Foster children often miss out on valuable experiences like music, dance, or karate lessons, team sports, or even school yearbooks and prom. These activities help children build confidence, make friends, and develop life skills—experiences that can have a lasting impact on their future.
Through the Wishing Well, foster parents can request up to $500 annually per child to cover these expenses, ensuring that kids in foster care don’t miss out on opportunities that are so crucial for their growth and well-being.
Whether it’s for contact lenses, team fees, or vacation expenses, the Wishing Well fills the gap left by state funding. Donations to this program directly support foster children in Utah, helping them enjoy the same experiences as their peers and fostering a sense of belonging and normalcy.
Your support can make a significant difference in a child’s life. By contributing to the Wishing Well Program, you give a child in foster care the chance to thrive, pursue their passions, and build a brighter future. Join us today in making these wishes come true for children who need it most.
