Volunteers play an impactful role in supporting foster families across the state of Utah.
Utah Foster Care (UFC) is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Volunteer Coordinator for our Southwest Region. This region includes Washington, Kane, Garfield, and Iron, Beaver, Paiute, Wayne, Sevier, and Sanpete counties, with a specific focus on the first four.

Salary: $26.07
Position Type: 10 hours per week. Temporary employee for the time period February 23rd, 2026 โ€“ January 31st, 2027

The ideal applicant will be able to adapt to ongoing changes and tackle a variety of assignments with flexibility. This role involves providing support to foster parents in a variety of ways, including gathering volunteers, attending staff meetings, and supporting the team. This role will report directly to the Volunteer Services Manager, while also collaborating with other staff in the region. This position concludes on January 31st, 2027.

Responsibilities include:
โ€ข Community Engagement: Actively recruit volunteers in the area to support foster families. Provide frequent communication with volunteers, letting them know of opportunities available in their area. Build relationships with and thank volunteers in various ways, to let them know they are appreciated and are making a difference.
โ€ข Team Collaboration: Work with the Retention and Recruitment teams in the local office to help find the best ways to utilize volunteers for supporting Utah Foster Careโ€™s mission. Meet with staff both in the local region and statewide, on at least a monthly basis, to strengthen the work of Utah Foster Care.
โ€ข Data Management: Track volunteer hours and programs, both for individual volunteers and total hours, along with the impact those hours are making for the families in your region. This information will be reported to DCFS and is a vital part of our ongoing contract with the state.
โ€ข Organizational Understanding: Develop a comprehensive understanding of Utah Foster Careโ€™s mission and strategic plan to recruit, train, and retain foster parents by building the Care Communities Program.
โ€ข Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
โ€ขBachelor’s Degree or relevant experience.
โ€ข Strong people skills – work with people from a variety of backgrounds cohesively.
โ€ข Strong organizational and communication skills – ability to organize events and bring volunteers together to help events run successfully.
โ€ข Experience with data management.
โ€ข Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
โ€ข Flexibility to accommodate weekend and evening hours.
โ€ข Comfortable learning and utilizing digital software, including Microsoft Office, CRMs, etc

Job Requirements:
โ€ข Requires some evening/weekend hours and travel.
โ€ข Valid Driverโ€™s License & reliable vehicle required.
โ€ข Hours include both in-person and virtual work, with infrequent travel to the Salt Lake area.
