A Weekend to Remember
This past weekend, 70 foster families gathered at beautiful Aspen Grove for a time of connection, laughter, and restoration. The Aspen Grove Foster Family Camp brought together children, parents, volunteers, and sponsors for a weekend filled with joy, adventure, and heartfelt moments.
From the excitement of Aspen Follies to the thrill of the ropes course for our teens, every activity was designed to build confidence, mindfulness, and memories that will last long after camp. Families enjoyed a dazzling magic show, meaningful nurture groups, delicious meals, and the always-entertaining lip sync competition—a crowd favorite that had everyone smiling and cheering.
None of this would have been possible without our terrific volunteers and the incredible generosity of our donors and sponsors. Their time, energy, and kindness made it possible for foster families to take a deep breath, reconnect, and simply enjoy being together.
Keegan, a teen who participated on the ropes course said, ” the ropes course was fun because I could do it all by myself. And I liked to talk to all my friends.” Another teen started the weekend by writing, ‘I want to go home’ on her bracelet. By the end of the weekend she held onto her newfound friends and said she wasn’t ready to go home yet. Among the many sweet moments was a group of kids that surrounded a child with disabilities showing him things, talking with him and including him. Truly the magic of this camp goes beyond rest and relaxation.
As the weekend came to a close, the sense of community and hope was unmistakable. Aspen Grove Foster Family Camp wasn’t just an event—it was a reminder of the power of love, support, and shared experience.
