Utah Foster Care (UFC) is seeking a part-time Volunteer Coordinator based out of the UFC Murray office.  The successful candidate will oversee the continued development of a volunteer program that supports Utah Foster Care’s mission.  As part of the Development team, this person also assists with fundraising efforts.

Volunteer Outreach Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Retention team and Development Director, develop and cultivate partnerships with individuals, businesses, churches, civic organizations, etc., promoting support for foster families via collection and distribution of donations, in-kind donations, discounts, activities, volunteer engagement, etc.
  • Follow up with new volunteer inquiries; maintain engagement with current and prospective volunteers via phone, email, newsletter, etc.
  • Develop and oversee volunteer training
  • Manage a database tracking volunteers, volunteer hours and volunteer activities; develop and complete a quarterly volunteer report
  • Assist Development Director with planning and carrying out of fundraising outreach, activities, and events
  • Requires occasional evenings and/or weekends outside regular office hours

Essential Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using technology and learning new technological platforms; familiarity with social media is a must
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills: attention to detail is crucial, good problem-solving skills, able to meet deadlines
  • Collaborative work style with management, peers, and others: able to admit and rectify mistakes as they happen, flexible to change, in keeping with the Leadership & Self-Deception corporate culture.

Job Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with non-profit or government child welfare agency, Utah’s foster care system, working with volunteers, and/or fundraising preferred but not required.

This part-time position provides paid time off and a 401(k) retirement plan.
