Position Type:      Part Time (20 Hours per week) with some Benefits

Location:               Eastern Utah, Price, Moab Blanding

Closing Date:        May 31, 2022 or when filled

Salary:                   $20,500 to $26,500 per year depending on experience

Utah Foster Care, a non-profit child welfare agency, is seeking a part-time team member to work as a foster parent educator. You will work with parents and families from Eastern Utah, Vernal, Price, Moab, and Blanding.

Duties include (note: this is a job-share position and these duties will be shared)

  • Training potential and current foster/adoptive families: Pre-service Series 24+ hours/month and In-service classes 4-6+ hours/month
  • Data entry and reporting
  • Training class preparation
  • Ongoing support of trainees
  • Curriculum review/development
  • Organizing in-service trainings for current foster families
  • Regional coordination with Division of Child and Family Services and other community partners
  • Coordinating with Recruitment and Retention programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Job qualifications and requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Human Sciences field or commensurate combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of evidenced based and trauma-informed curriculums
  • Public speaking and presentation skills necessary
  • Skilled PowerPoint (or similar programs), Excel, and online presentation platforms (Zoom, GoToMeeting, Crowdcast, etc)
  • Valid Driver’s License and reliable registered transportation required
  • Experience with a non-profit or child welfare agency is preferred
  • Knowledge of DCFS foster care/adoption policy, procedure and licensing is preferred
  • On-site and remote work
  • Evenings and some weekends
  • Travel required
