Utah Foster Care is currently seeking a Development Director to oversee our donor relations program and manage our fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships that support UFC’s ability to solicit individuals, foundations, and corporations for donations, grants and sponsorships. Salary Range $24.00 to $29.00 per hour

Job purpose:

Provide leadership and management to advance the fundraising efforts of Utah Foster Care (UFC). Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to build community support and raise funds to meet goals. Responsible for building relationships that support UFC’s ability to solicit individuals, foundations, and corporations for donations, grants, and sponsorships.

Essential Responsibilities and Competencies:

  • Proactively and successfully manage the development program at UFC
  • Effectively coordinate efforts of the Community Development Committee of the UFC Board of Directors
  • Overall responsibility for planning, coordinating, and carrying out annual fundraising luncheon
  • Ability to orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal, using resources effectively and efficiently
  • Practice attentive and active listening
  • Create a motivational climate for staff, peers, and volunteers
  • Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings, one on one, internal and external, small and large groups
  • Able to write clearly and succinctly to successfully write grants, articles, letters, and other development materials
  • Can be counted on to exceed goals and consistently get results
  • Supervise Outreach Coordinator

Job qualifications and requirements:

  • Two years plus of successful fundraising experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office suite and fundraising software
  • Knowledge and prior experience in Benevon Fundraising Model preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university
  • Experience in successful grant writing
